Child's Play Inversions & Arm Balances bring up fear in many adults. Children, unhindered by self-imposed limitations, get giddy at the prospect of going upside-down. Call up your inner child, and learn to play while tearing down your internal "I can't"s

Sunday 31st October 14.30-17.30   Euro 35.00
Feeding Your Heart What feeds your heart? What does your heart yearn for? Use this session to give your heart the medicine it most needs, thereby creating a loving home for your Spirit.

Steve Emmerman and Talya Ring are 2 of the most senior Forrest Yoga teachers in the world and are the founders of Turbodog Spirit Center (http://www.turbodogspiritcenter.com), the only non-profit yoga center in Chicago. They use Forrest Yoga, Toltec, Shamanic and other spiritual teachings to awaken their students to their true selves, and they travel around the world teaching workshops, trainings and retreats. They were hand-picked by Ana Forrest to serve as Forrest Yoga Mentors & be guardians of the Forrest Yoga legacy.

Steve Emmerman is co-founder of Turbodog Spirit Center.  He had a neck injury at the age of 15 that continued to grow worse over the years. By his early 20s he had unbearable pain and frequently could not turn his head. Steve was seen by doctors, acupuncturists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and other body workers to no avail. He started practicing yoga and did find some relief. But when Steve finally met Ana Forrest in a weekend workshop, his life changed. For the first time in a long time, Steve could turn his head without pain, and so he decided to work with Ana whenever possible. Ana Forrest's next visit to Chicago happened to be a teacher- training, her first in Chicago, and so Steve attended the training and soon after found himself to be in demand throughout the Chicago area as a Forrest Yoga instructor. Steve is one of Ana Forrest's most senior teachers. He has assisted Ana at workshops, yoga conferences, and both the foundation and advanced teacher training intensives. Steve was hand-picked by Ana Forrest to mentor other Forrest Yoga teachers, helping to strengthen the Hoop of the Teachers and thereby mend the Hoop of the People. He taught at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago for years. Aside from teaching at the Center, he leads workshops and retreats worldwide with Talya Ring.

Talya Ring is co-founder of Turbodog Spirit Center.  She discovered yoga while looking to heal a blood-circulation imbalance and fell in love with how yoga made her feel. She practiced various styles, but only when she came across Forrest Yoga did she know she had found her true practice. Aside from building strength and flexibility, Forrest Yoga provided Talya with a safe environment to explore and express repressed emotions, enabling her to deepen her understanding of and respect for herself.  Talya has been invited by Ana Forrest to become a Forrest Yoga Mentor, thereby helping to train and support other Forrest Yoga teachers.  Talya is continually searching for ways to strengthen her connection with Spirit.  This quest has lead her to a variety of spiritual teachers based in Native American and Toltec traditions, most notably HeatherAsh Amara and Brooke Medicine Eagle.  Along with her life and teaching partner, Steve Emmerman, Talya is dedicated to building a cohesive and healing community of students and teachers that supports its members' personal and spiritual growth.  She taught at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago for years.  Today, aside from teaching at the Center, she leads workshops and retreats worldwide with Steve Emmerman.

OUR MISSION

To commit to helping heal the individual by creating a strong & vibrant community; helping heal the immediate community through yoga & spiritual practice; helping strengthen the larger community through volunteer & charitable activity.

OUR WORK

We have been so deeply affected by the work we have done that we feel it is imperative to share that with others. We wish to take as many people as possible on a journey such as we have had through a healing process, through a process of maturation, and an opportunity for growth. We have learned to utilize the tools given to us, without blindly accepting anybody else's opinion of their "proper" use, in ways that specifically help our own development into our true selves.
This is what we strive to share. It is not a specific regiment nor a specific asana series we are looking to promote. But, we feel that given these tools and some guidance, our students can arrive at the same process of actualizing their potential which has been such a gift to us. We wish to be a catalyst for positive change in the world, one person at a time! It is our vision to help as many people as possible to be grounded, to connect to the depth of their power, to find their truth and speak it and live it confidently, to eliminate self-destructive behavior, to walk steadfast through change, and to live in a way that makes them proud.

FORREST YOGAŽ PHILOSOPHY

Ana Forrest, creator of Forrest YogaŽ has a unique as well as powerful philosophy and approach toward yoga.
Ana has spent 30 years developing Forrest YogaŽ specifically to address Our People's stresses and challenges, both physical and emotional. We use intense pose sequences, compassionately taught, to develop skills in awakening each of the senses. Forrest YogaŽ teaches you to bring aliveness, using breath, into every cell of your body, igniting your passion for living.
The pillars of Forrest YogaŽ are Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit. Our mission is to create in each of us a sense of freedom, a connection to our spirit and the courage to walk as our spirit dictates; thus, doing our part in "Mending the Hoop of the People". Forrest YogaŽ will teach you to Go Deeper, find your Truth and encourage you to take these gifts you have earned Beyond the Mat into the rest of your life.
The Forrest YogaŽ method gets you connecting to your core - getting strong and centered. We use heat, deep breathing and vigorous sequences to sweat out toxins while the long holds in the pose progressions help you flush, oxygenate and rejuvenate every cell.
As a beginner to Forrest YogaŽ, you learn to breathe deeply and connect in feeling with your body. As you progress, you get proficient at safely tailoring each pose to work best for you; particularly with physical and emotional injuries. Learning to work honestly at your edges, you develop effective tools to deal with fear, struggle, and breakthroughs. This makes it possible for integrity, self awareness and playful curiosity to become part of your daily life.
Forrest YogaŽ does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires that you bring a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. As you advance in Forrest YogaŽ, step by step, you learn to intelligently ride your breath into the exhilarating advanced poses. In addition, you learn to exercise your emotional body through the full spectrum of feeling; from the healing process all the way into the ecstatic realms.
Forrest YogaŽ honors and celebrates the beauty of life and the power of Spirit. It is an inspiring yoga workout that builds flexibility, intelligence and strength while helping deepen the relationship with your authentic self. Accessing your intuition, the voice of your Spirit, builds personal strength and ushers integrity into your daily interactions with all beings. Forrest YogaŽ challenges you to heal, grow and welcome your Spirit home.
