Shukram Das has travelled to India regularly since 1999. At the ashram of Neem Karoli Baba in Vrindaban he learned the mantras and prayers recorded on this CD. Accompanied by just a classic Dotara, Shukram captures the magic and beauty of these traditional MANTRAS (BHAJANS), bringing a warm and trance-like sound into your house or car. Listening or singing along can put you in a deep meditative state. Shukram Das, or Patrick Vermeulen, is also co-founder of Svaha Yoga in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Shukram Das learned these prayers and songs at the Neem Karoli Baba ashram in Vrindaban, where it is said that there, Heaven descended on Earth in its fullest expression. “…the true Vrindaban is a state of consciousness in which the soul is reunited with the Creator through love.” This music is pure and a favorite to NKB Taos dham’ caretakers.

Hypnotiserende prayers
De Indiase prayer RAGHUPATI verkondigt de boodschap van eenheid, en was “ misschien om die reden wel “ de favoriet van Ghandi. ShukRam Das, in het gewone leven Patrick Vermeulen, opent er zijn CD Shraddha (vertrouwen) mee. Das, mede-oprichter van Svaha Yoga in Amsterdam, heeft deze en andere prayers geleerd aan de bron, in India. Prayer opgevat als een gebedslied waarin je wordt gegeven wat je nodig hebt, als je VERTROUWEN hebt, tenminste. Maar Shraddha is vooral een prettige CD om te hebben omdat er van het sonore stemgeluid van Das een aangename, hypnotiserende werking uitgaat. De eentonigheid trilt door tot onder je huid.
