Marianne started practicing yoga some eight years ago. First of all it was a really nice experience on the physical level, but soon finding out the practice has big effects on other levels as well, creating space in all possible directions.

In 2005 she was touched by the teaching and insight in non-duality – absence of two-ness – through Douwe Tiemersma; realizing that making separations is causing a lot of problems and suffering. Being without boundaries is openness; accepting what is announcing itself in life, without any defense.

After years of yogaclasses with Mary Bruggeman (Arnhem), she moved to Amsterdam in 2007 and found this beautiful Yoga Shala of SvahaYoga. Enjoying a lot the dynamic practice combined with the other paths of Yoga she actually jumped almost right into the teacher training with Patrick and Gösta which she just finished last summer.

At this moment she is studying pranayama with D. Tiemersma, further developing insight in the body of (breath)energy. Discovering and exploring the continious stream of breath through which we can connect more with who we really are.

More and more being surprised that we don't learn any relaxation technics when we are young at school, during those years that we are already confronted with a lot of tensions, and having missed that herself, she now also follows the course 'Ontspanning & Inzicht' (relaxation and insight) for youth wih Pia de Blok. Here are relaxations technics from West and East brought together, combined with the insight in non-duality, made into simple exercises that everybody can do everywhere.

Marianne uses this knowledge in her classes as well. She enjoyes teaching, in a playful and joyful way, with attention for the breath as lifeforce. The own experience of people is important, that is what can give insight in the own situation creating more space and openness.
